I learned a long time ago to only use ‘blue Loctite’ for automotive use. ‘Red Loctite’ you will never get bolts and nuts loose again, unless you use a torch.

My problem is the flapper has these weird 'nubs' or extrusions that grab the chain sometimes. I'm not skilled enough to rub these nubs off but I might see if the chain could be shorter to fix it. Thanks.

Good test using Loctite Red!

In my industrial manufacturing job we use Loctite 290 wicking threadlocker compound, a very thin green product designed to affix previously assembled parts, to seal a particular pneumatic control component. With the application of Loctite 7649 primer the 290 bonds the parts within seconds and is resistant to 250psi air pressure within minutes.

I do not believe in soap on glass. It attracts dirt.. (Which is why Windex sucks so bad. Gets dirty again much faster) The technique, however, is BRILLIANT. I use a product called Invisible Glass.
